Please find outlined below your step by step guide to your religious wedding ceremony held here at Auchen Castle Hotel, one of the most luxurious wedding venues in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland (print this page):- Choose a Wedding Date.
- Once you have chosen a date contact us by email (weddings@auchencastle.com)
or telephone [+44 (0)1683 300 407] to check availability
and to book the venue.
We will confirm availability and if your date is not available we will give alternative suggestions. - Once we have agreed a date
we will place your date on hold provisionally until
your deposit is made within 3 days.
Deposits can be paid immediately by credit or debit card. Alternatively forward a cheque to Auchen Castle Accounts Department (Auchen Castle Hotel, Beattock, Near Moffat, Dumfriesshire DG10 9SH, Scotland) within 7 days. - Once we have received
payment with a signed copy of our terms and conditions, we
will ask you to:
- book your Minister; the Ministers' diary is incredibly busy so we recommend as much forward notice as possible.
- confirm the location of your wedding. You can get married in Auchen Castle itself or outside in the gardens (weather permitting). We also can arrange a religious ceremony in a local Church. - Auchen Castle will contact you and confirm that everything is booked.
- You will then need to submit completed
M10 forms to: The Town Hall,
High St, Moffat, DG10
9HF.
You can get your M10 forms by visiting www.gro-scotland.gov.uk or by contacting the Town Hall [Tel +44 (0)1683 220536] but while the forms can be submitted up to 3 months before the wedding they must be in no later than 15 days before.
Please note: The Registrar cannot accept Marriage Notice forms from foreign nationals (excluding British, Swiss and EEA citizens) that are not accompanied by the correct immigration documentation - more information for non-British Nationals who wish to get married in the UK (PDF download, 14kb). - The Bride and Groom must collect the Marriage Schedule from the Town Hall office up to 7 days prior to the event or on the day of the Wedding (remember to check office opening hours).
- Newly wed couples must ensure that the signed Marriage Scheduled be returned to the Town Hall for processing within 3 days of the wedding service.
